2009 saw a rapid rise into the limelight through much increased BBC Radio 1 support culminating in a live Radio 1 Essential mix with Annie Mac in January 2010, as well as playing alongside her at the Manchester Apollo and Rockness Festivals later in the year. Hostage has also recently played his first live set on BBC Radio 1.

His tracks are a firm fixture in the mix-tapes of the most in demand club and radio DJs.
